VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA (July 22, 2014) — With new offices in the United States, Wenco International Mining Systems Ltd. now offers improved in-country sales, service, and support to American clients of its mine fleet management and high-precision navigation systems.
Led by North American Sales Manager Richard Tagge, Wenco's first American office opened in Denver in 2013. Since then, operations have expanded to two additional locations — Tucson, Arizona, and Tyler, Texas.
From these regional offices, a team of engineers, sales representatives, and service technicians provides solutions and support for clients new to the system, as well as for existing clients active in the mining industry (including Minntac, Keetac, United Taconite, Minorca, Apex Quarry and Plant, and ASARCO Mission copper mine).
The US team also excels at applying Wenco's stockpile dozer system to coal-fired power plants, as used by the Arizona Public Service. This application of the system improves safety and navigation at these facilities while generating information on stockpile topography, which engineers use to calculate the volumes of coal remaining. Additionally, state power provider Luminant utilizes the standalone high-precision guidance dozer and supervisor vehicle systems in their Texas operations.
The recent acquisition of APS technology has also enabled Wenco to adapt its fleet management and navigation systems for use at small mines and quarries — an important emerging sector in the Eastern United States.
