Flexible Wenco Software Option Implemented at Teck's Quebrada Blanca

RICHMOND, BC, CANADA (January 2011) — Teck, Canada's largest diversified mining, mineral processing and metallurgical company, has purchased Wenco's Fleet Control fleet management software and Bench Manager high precision software for their Quebrada Blanca copper mine in Northern Chile.

Wenco will provide industry leading software, expert software installation and certified training to the mine site, while Teck will supply all hardware and a Cisco WiFi radio network. Wenco's software systems were chosen for high performance dispatching, reporting and optimization functions.

In addition to the fleet management system, Teck has purchased nine mobile Bench Manager High Precision units to be used on seven dozers and two graders, along with 59 MDT Software (Mobile Data Terminal) units and two licenses for Mobile Supervisor Terminal software for the site.

About Quebrada Blanca

The Quebrada Blanca mineis located in northern Chile approximately 240 kilometres southeast of the City of Iquique and 1,500 kilometres north of Santiago. The operation mines ore from an open pit and leaches the ore to produce copper cathodes via aSX-EW process. Copper cathode is trucked to Iquique for shipment to purchasers.
